The design process - An essential element!

Any type of artistic concept can be made through designing. The transition from theory to practice is one of the most important steps, because, at this stage, the foundation of the project is being built. Even if the ideas are good from an artistic point of view, a decoration cannot be made only with the help of mental images - therefore, their materialization is essential, and this can be obtained only by creating a design. This step facilitates the communication between the creator (designer, set designer, architect) and the builders who have the task of considering each element, in order to build the final product.

For a construction to be functional, it must meet a few essential criteria. First of all, the space in which it will be installed must be taken into account - therefore, a survey and an exact plan of the space are needed, in order to investigate the relationship and compatibility between these two factors. In the design process, creating a technical drawing is necessary - it includes the large drawing of the decor and placement options in space (on stage, in the theater or in the chosen location), and also all other objects (furniture, props, decorative elements etc.). A multi-level analysis is mandatory in order to be able to look at the whole from multiple perspectives and, especially, to be able to develop a setting, considering all the details involved in the process.

What does the design process entail?

Designing is being used in all works carried out by the ALTAX team, regardless of the characteristics of the project. This is a necessary process in understanding the artistic concept into the smallest details. The technical drawing is made up considering each module and object that will be included in the final decor. The structurist, the constructor, and the scenographer are the ones who collaborate, working to obtain perfect technical solutions, in order to combine the aesthetic factor with the functional one.

Various programs are used for the design processes – they have many advantages, due to the way in which they can be operated. They give the project a special accuracy and a detailed analysis of the technical notions - thus, through certain functions, a high degree of flexibility can be reached in any changes that may occur during the project. There are several programs available, but the most commonly used are CAD (computer-aided design) ones - AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Rhinoceros, Cinema4D, Sketchup, etc. So, with their support, the design is not only much easier, but also much more accurate. With their help, it is possible to create the 3D visualization of each object, being able to manipulate and observe them, from several angles of perspective, to be able to have a complete view of the future construction.

Design methods for decors, objects and metal structures

The actual design needs specialists who know the necessary methods and techniques. This can be done by a collaborator (scenographer or architect), by the beneficiary or by professional engineers and architects, within the ALTAX company. Their role is to find the best ways to transform the initial visual concept into a coherent structure that can become real. Therefore, whether it is about small, medium or large objects, large decors, metal structures, stands and exhibition furniture, walls or other types of construction, the design stage is mandatory to obtain a perfect result.

ALTAX can help you to implement any project - whether you want to create a setting for theatre, or whether you plan to arrange a space for shows or events, the ALTAX experts have extensive experience in this field, and the team is made up of professionals from different areas - painters, welders, carpenters, technicians, sculptors, engineers, etc. So, if you need support in the design or the construction process, they will give you all the information you need! You will definitely be able to materialize everything you have in mind, in an authentic and original way!
